An interesting idea that is being developed by Denbury Resources : take carbon dioxide from industrial complex (Dow Chemicals) and pump it into oil fields where the gas acts like a solvent, removing oil from rock formation. Oil Companies usually pay $10 – $ 20 a ton to harvest naturally occurring carbon dioxide. The plan will also reduce Dow’s Co2 emissions equivalent to emissions of 27,000 cars annually.
